Removal of a tree on the Village Green

Sadly, on 17 June, it became apparent that one of the trees on the Village Green had been damaged in the bad weather and, on the advice of Chris Arnold, a Tree Surgeon [https://www.treesurgeryincheltenham.co.uk/] the Parish Council took the decision that the entire tree needed to be removed as there was extensive damage through the centre which compromised its integrity and left little option but to remove it.  This was not a decision taken lightly and, obviously leaves a large empty space on the Green which the Council plans to address by planting a new tree later in the year. Further information will be posted here and on the Parish Council’s Facebook page about the new tree and the timescale for planting it – so – please look out for further tree updates and feel free to speak to your Parish Councillors or contact the Parish Clerk if you have any questions.
